L.A.

In LA where your own sense of style is accepted. I LOVE IT HERE.

Adina and I have been staying at our girlfriends house in West Hollywood. It's our first trip out to Cali and I got to say, "not too shabby".
The people here are super nice, not to mention have an amazing fashion sense! The food, art, and shops here blow my mind.
Anywho, off to Venice Beach to ride bicycles on this perfect day!

HAVE A SAFE NEW YEAR EVERYONE :)

Lets Do It

As we all know the New Year is right around the corner. 2010 was a bit of a slower year for me, but nothing's stopping me this coming year.
I've been really busy with work and school, but now that my schedule has relaxed I am ready to get creative.

My new years resolution last year was to drop about 15 pounds, and I'm proud to say that the goal was achieved :) !
For this years goal, I would like to create memorable images with other talented artists.

One life goal of mine is to see my work published in magazines and the cover of them as well! I'm not giving up on any of my goals/dreams. I feel in life if you keep being positive and fighting for what you want, you will get it!
2011 I'M GOING FOR THE GOLD !

"Two in one"

Adina is my twin sister pursuing photography. 2011 is going to be a great new year for us to collaborate. I've been doing my own makeup thing for a little while, but whats better than having twins working on the same project?

We share the same vision

Get ready for us ;)

Light Painting

Shot by: Alex Covo
Model: Justine
Makeup/hair: Me

Working with Alex Covo

has a very awesome eye for high fashion photography. I worked with him on October 6th and we came up with amazing images using model Justine Wick, represented by Mega Models Miami. The shoot was nothing I've ever seen before.
He worked with the lights off and created these awesome images with nothing but the model, a flashlight, and his camera. Alex went around the room pointing the flashlight directly on Justine and moving the light around the walls and any space around her. This photography technique was what he had mentioned to me called 'Light Painting'.

Makeup and hair:
Justine has really thick hair, so for the first look we went for big hair with lots of volume. For her makeup I went with cat eyes, a light maroon lip, and radiant skin for a playful sex kitten look.

We had more time to play for the second look! I went in with a modern gothic twist. Her hair
pinned with bobbypins, pale skin, lots of glitter, and dark lips. No one inspires me more than my favorite makeup artist Pat Mcgrath.

These photos were taken by me on set. Alex Covo's finished work will be posted soon :)
It was amazing working with Alex and Justine. We had a great time shooting, and as artists we helped each other achieve the images we were looking for.

HALLO

WEEN, has been one of my most busiest times of the year. Our luck it fell on a Sunday..meaning partying and dressing up the entire weekend!
Friday: Mac Store: Got to make an 8 year old into a gothic cheerleader and made up other ladies into your typical classical beauty with false lashes and red lips. After work I primped up my twin sis into Barbie (or in this case Teresa) and myself into Princess Jasmine! I do want to say that this has been one of my most favorite halloween costumes we've ever put together. I also made time to bake chocolate and lemon cupcakes for that nights festivities at a friends house!

Saturday: Booked a few clients..but my most favorite was doing a Pam Anderson in Barb Wire look on one of my clients. I hustled my usual one hour drive to Miami to make a former model into a hot Victoria Secret Angel! She was pretty fun to glam up. We went with soft bronze colors and tons of highlight to her skin. Not to mention extensions, curls, and big hair..which eventually turned into the bed hair waves we wanted! Last touch was the body glitter by Make Up For Ever! As for the rest of my night, I went to a party near by dressed as a sailor and got to see a whole bunch of other fun costumes!
Sunday: Worked at the Mac Macys, I decided to dress up as a pinup girl! Fake tattoos and all my friends! It was an extremely busy day
at the mall but seeing the little children, parents, and even other workers all dressed up was pretty adventurous.

Working Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2011

I feel lucky to have worked with such amazing artists again this year. There were two different teams of makeup artists, one group was keyed by Lottie and the other by James Vincent. They split the shows and came up with amazing makeup looks using Make Up For Ever's new Aqua Creams.
If you are looking for a long wearing product the Aqua Cream is a must have in your makeup bag. The more subtle colors you can use for your eyes, cheeks, and lips.

After working the Aqui Di Lara show, being Miami it started raining out while the shows were taking place. After the last show the models came back from one tent to another soaking wet with their makeup PERFECTLY intact.
I only got to work 3 shows this year and on Monday while the last show (Tyler Rose) was taking place, I got a call to go to the VIP sweet at the Raleigh Hotel to treat some guests to a makeover. I got to meet all kinds of people and felt really fortunate that on the last day I got to meet some other hard working faces.
The 3 shows I worked were Mara Hoffman, Aqua Di Lara, and the Luli Fama show.
It was a fun but at the same time a nerve-racking experience. There is so much work put into the shows and when it comes down to crunch time, we have to make sure each model has what they need. We had hair, makeup, nail, even people doing facials backstage. All this is happening with camera crew and press walking in and out of the tents.Talk about hectic, but bring it on.
Over all the shows were a great success!

Okay I'm back! Done with my Summer classes.. LETS WORK!!
I didn't have a life will all the summer school work..hence me not blogging as much. Anywho, got some great news! I will be working Mercedes-Benz Fashion Swim Week again this year. I cannot wait to see what the designers have in store in the up coming collections, and the fun makeup looks we will be doing for the shows. Not to mention how excited I am to work with my favorite makeup artists in the fashion industry again this year!
You bet I will be posting about the looks coming up this July.

As far as working at MAC, I've been working at the store a lot more at the Boca mall.
I love the staff to pieces <3

Imogen Heap

For most of you who don't know, Imogine Heap has been my favorite female vocalist for the longest time
and I FINALLY GOT TO SEE HER! She performed last night at the Jackie Gleason Theater located in Miami with other UK artists GEESE and Ben Christophers.

Imogine Heap is the most artistic and passionate musician I have ever witnessed live. She had such great energy and really connected with the crowed. She uses different instruments from chimes, the piano, drums, an electronic keyboard, wine glasses with water, her computer (which imitates different sounds), and many others.

She asked the audience which key/versus they preferred to hear, and made up a song in front of us. She played a 2 in a half hour set including her old songs, songs from her newest album Ellipse, and two songs from her second band Frou Frou.
I've been to many amazing shows but this one by far was my favorite!
Check out this video I posted !

**I'll be putting up another vid soon!

Busy March

I've had a hectic March and haven't really had the time to blog.
I've been working and going to the gym a lot!
Cut off my hair this month too!

Also, found out I lost 13 pounds! Hoorayy for being motivated and working out.
Unfortunately, I got sick so I have been resting at home.
My doctor thinks its possibly from overworking out.. :/

I missed seeing the Broadway show Wicked, huge bummer!
Hopefully things will look up!

Alex Castro gothic chic photoshoot!

Today we had an interesting photo shoot. The weather was gray and muggy, but perfect for our gothic feel type shoot. Adina Koptiev took photos of Alex Castro, his style resembles lovely Ash Stymest, so we had fun with the look. Alex has fun hair and I decided to go with a heavy shape eyebrow look, contoured his cheeks, and kept his skin natural. Here are some shots I snapped away real quickly!

(We did have a few other looks, unfortunately it started pouring so we managed to do one outside.. will never forget this crazy shoot!)

PK : Pennina Koptiev ;) he's branded !

Happy House Vintage

Yesterday I got together with a few friends of mine and we put together a look-book shoot for Happy House Vintage. Betsey, a blogger and owner of Happy House Vintage Clothing and styled the shoot amazingly. Nikole was our model and Adina was our photographer. I did the makeup and hair of course ;) Here are some behind the scenes photos!

The eye makeup look resembled somewhat to Twiggys iconic eye.. We went with light pink lips then darkened them throughout the shoot to a dark plum/purple color.

We shot 20 different outfits.. I'll keep you posted when the look-book will be posted!

John Galliano 2010

I've worked with an inspirational makeup artist Lottie in the past, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion week Swim. And found her working Gallianos backstage show with several other artists. I really do wish to work the way she does, she gets to travel and do what she loves simultaneously.

Check out the amazing makeup!
