Must haves

A few things I think everyone should have for Fall!

Black tights and loose blouse-like dresses. Along with long necklaces and short black platform pumps. They have really adorable new boots at Aldo that I have fallen in love with!

As far as accessories..long necklaces and big rings are always my fave! Another huge item this fall are bows! Bows are everywhere, big ones on the hair on belts and even shoes!

Acid washed denim is also a must have. You can spot many girls in magazines with acid washed denim vests, jeans, and even denim dresses. If you have any old denim that you don't wear, I say its an awesome DIY project.

Update in NYC

I've been frequently going to NYC this trip. I met up and worked a test shoot with Edward Le Poulin out in The City. Its been a while since I've blogged, I have very little access to the internet where I am staying so I'm trying my best to keep you all posted when I can! Edward and I are trying to schedule another shoot, this time I hope we can shoot a John Galliano make-up look for our model. I've been sending numerous emails out to the models of NYC and hopefully I can get one to do the look we are going for.

As far as the rest of my trip, I've been all around New York. I'm staying in Queens and been to The City almost every day. Yesterday, I met up with some friends from South Florida and we visited Groud Zero, as well as took a ferry and saw the Statue Of Liberty. We also went to China Town and Little Italy! However, none of that compared to today in The City. My sister and I went to the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. With guest stars Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Top Chefs Tom Colicchio. It was a great experience and I think that everyone should go to a late night show some time in their lives.

As far as fashion goes, the girls here are rocking short hair with straight bangs; big earrings; and knock out short boots with dresses. I also spotted many girls wearing their hair up in buns and huge clip on earrings! I LOVE NEW YORK

Currently in NY

So I'm in New York right now. I had an early flight at 6AM yesterday morning. This meant a hectic night on Sunday. I got home around 1AM from Miami, working the fashion shows and had to finish up on my packing. I left the house around 4Am and my flight was at 6AM. I got no sleep on the plane, and went on with my busy day.
I'm here to visit family and I'm trying my best to squeeze in some work while I'm up here. So, If you are reading this and you're a stylist or a photographer, contanct me if you need a MUA ! I'm here for three weeks!

Anywho, now that I'm here I can get some awesome shopping done! I'll be in The City on Thursday working a shoot! However, I will be doing some major shopping after I'm done.
H&M here I come!

Le Poulin

I met a photographer a few days ago by the name of Edward Le Poulin, he's taken many remarkable photos. His work includes high fashion shows and celeb photos. He works primarily in New York City and I met him during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami. We exchanged cards and he told me to give him a call on Tuesday. We talked about setting up a photoshoot!
I have a 6AM flight to NY and I will be there for three long weeks, so it would be nice to work out there while vacationing and visiting family. What can I say.. When an offer comes up, I got to take it! I crave new looks for my portfolio, especially with a talented photographer !

These photos are from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2009 that Edward Le Poulin took!

Vitamin A & V DEL SOL

Worked two shows back to back. Vitamin A's look consisted of fun smokey brown eyes with a smoked out blue eyed look with fun fros and pony tails. V Del Sol on the other hand, went for the 1940's glam look. Really light on the eyes with fine liner/red lips and pin curls !

Heres the video of Vitamin A

V Del Sol !

Ed Hardy Swimwear

Worked the Ed Hardy Show last night. The hair and makeup was over the top! Not to mention that the 2010 swimwear collection is stunning. The look was big rocker hair and over the top glitter!
Here's a video of last nights show!

This is what I wear backstage, my Make Up For Ever Alliance T-shirt!

Make Up For Ever & MBFW

I will be working with Make Up For Ever's Aqua Collection. The brand has bright oceanic colors, not to mention they are waterproof! This product has been out for a few months now, but this is what we will be working with for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Its absolutely genius.

You can get these pencils and shadows at your nearest Sephora or Make Up For Ever counter!

Bangs or No Bangs

Every girl always wonders what to do with their hair when they get tired of its look. In my case, I've been wearing it wavy a lot and I would wear it straight from time to time. I had straight across bangs about a year ago, and now they grew a little longer and they are pushed off to the side.

In many ads I noticed that the ideal hair now is parted down the middle with no bangs. If you can pull of any hair look, I would play around and see what fits best. I'm not sure if I should grow them out or get them cut shorter.. decisions decisions !

Round sunglasses

I think I'm in love with round sunglasses. They are such an odd look for us people that have been wearing huge box sunglasses religiously in the past few years. I just got a pare of cute circular shaped glasses and it took a while for me to get used to the different shape on my face.

Damaged Lashes?

Today many girls count on mascara to lengthen and thicken their eyelashes. We do so much to our eyelashes like apply mascara, use an eyelash curler, or wear false lashes that damages the root of the eyelash. I get many questions on what helps repair them. SEPHORA comes straight to mind, they have the best products to help repair and strengthen your eyelashes!

Some of Sephoras eyelash repair products range from $18 to $125! Of course the most expensive one is one of the most fast acting products, "Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To Die For". I heard fabulous things about it..it repairs lashes quickly.

Personally I use Talika Eyelash Lipocils, its a $40 eyelash conditioner. I apply it twice a day as recommended and definitely see results. Conditioning your eyelashes is just as important as putting on a daily moisturizer on your face!

Todays style

I've blogged about the Indian/Western look. Every time I come across an awesome photo of this style I have to put it up on my blog. Another thing, circular frames are the new hot accessory. Even the Olsen's have been spotted wearing them. Big or small, the signature John Lennon look will always look dynamite. So today's style is a mix of Indian/Western with a 60s twist. Got to love it!

Got to love this look.

Also, this model above is spotted with the nail polish I had recently blogged about,
L.A. Girl FLARE nail polish the NL 57. Such a fun color !

Denim Dress

I've been wanting a denim dress for a while now. I find a well fitted one on a body looks really nice. Its a flattering outfit. I found one on PixieMarket.com, its cute but the price is a little much. I like the fact that its an acid wash denim dress. And the shoes are killer with her outfit. I've seen some denim dresses at Forever 21 and some cute ones at Anthropology.
Love Love Love it!

P.s. You can find similar shoes at Steve Madden or Aldo !

Body Paint

Artists can get so creative with body painting. It's not my profession, but I did take an air brush course at school that taught a form of body paint art. If you ever get that chance go to your local bookstore and grab a book called, "Body Painting Masterpieces by Joanne Gair", the cover is of Demi Moore in a painted suit. This book would blow your mind like it did mine. Here are some pictures I found online of some other awesome body paintings.

Front & Back

The lace part was my favorite.

Redid my room

So I've set up a summer project and it was to re do my room. I was over the little girl feel of my past room and wanted a more chic New York style feel to it. I got rid of my old furniture, painted my walls a warm shade of pink, got new furniture, hung pictures..etc. I think it was one of my best summer projects by far. I worked on everything myself, I love my new room=]

Blush Lifetime

Blush was a show on Lifetime for makeup artists. Its the Americas Next Top Model for makeup artists. The first season aired a few months ago, and I would watch it religiously. I have been trying to research the shows next auditions for season 2. I really want to make it on the show and show the world my talent as a young artist. The minute I hear about the auditions, I'm applying! I can't find applications anywhere online=[

Z!nk

Aside of reading all my favorite fashion magazines, I just realized how awesome Z!nk Magazine is. Its a high fashion magazine discussing what the models wearing, everything from hair, makeup, clothes, and accessories. The cover always includes a fun and funky hair and makeup look and I find it absolutely flawless.
